Question Warranty Question

I'm the "Diesel Idiot" and my question is: I bought my truck used with 37,000 on it and now at 88,000 my fuel injection pump is shot, even though I bought my truck used shouldn't the Cummins 100,000 mile waranty cover it's replacement?

Can't speak for the 1999 warranty as they change as the years go by.

But I was curious what the 2004 warranty says and here's a very brief summary of what I found:

1. The 7-year/100,000 mile warranty is transferable if you pay a fee. ($150 within 30 days of purchase). If you don't transfer the warranty, you are covered by the Cummins warranty which goes for 5 years or 100,000.
2. After the first 3 yrs/36,000 miles there is a $100 deductible
3. The injection pump is included in this warranty.

Bottom line is.....assuming the 1999 warranty is similar.....I'll bet you are past that 5 year limit if you didn't transfer the Dodge warranty.

5yr 100,000 miles from the date of in service. Dealer can run your vin and see what coverage is left.

I may or may not be screwed. I called Cardinal Dodge today and the warranty lady said to call back on Monday and talk to the warranty supervisor. My case is a little unique in that my truck was a lease turn-in and maintained by the dealer until I bought it from a wholesaler. Also I am in the military and was deployed for 18 months of the time I owned my truck! Hopefully this is one time it will pay to serve.
