Warranty for a 99
Warranty for a 99
Anyone know what the standard warranty for a 99 cummins is in the dodge? My gramps oil pressure sensor is shot sealer wants 275 for the parts cummins wants 36.00. But both say a reflash is required to fix the problem. I am just wondering what is under warranty and what isn't. And how long the peroid is on this truck.

Jamie
Re:Warranty for a 99
Jamie, I have a '99 3500, and the warranty is 100K on the engine, everything else was 36K unless the extended warranty for those was purchased. When I bought mine, it was my first Dodge, so I bought the 7 year 100K bumper to bumper extended warranty. Had to use it a few weeks ago when fifth gear went out on me - just cost me the $50 deductible for a $684 repair. It sounds like the oil pressure sending unit on your gramps truck is going out, and I don't know whether or not that is considered part of the engine (the turbo and fuel pumps are).

Roger
Re:Warranty for a 99
The dealer is going to warranty the part for me but I am not sure about the reflash either but this is the part that cummins themselves said to change it is a diff part then the old one. I wanted to just replace the part that was gone it lasted 5 years I figured that was plenty all I wanted it the old part 5 mins to change not all this reflashing BS now I have to go through. Enough ranting I have the part here and the ******* will use my part under warranty and reflash it for free.

Jamie
