Very responsive Steering

I have a 03 SLT 4X4 quad cab with 5.9L Diesel. I had the steering box replaced once under warranty in 2006. Since then there is no play in the steering, you move the wheel and the truck is turning. I have never driven an vehicle with steering that tight. Any Suggestions??
I am considering putting another steering dampner on.

Well, it sounds like problem fixed. Does it seem to want to grab, hang up?

I'll trade you with mine plus $ 250.00 !!!

Mine is the opposite, you move the wheel 1/4 of a turn and it still won't make any difference !!!

Actually I will give you $ 300

I bought an 01 about a month ago and it has the same problem its almost enough to give arm pump like raceing a dirtbike. Since i have bought it i have replaced the ball joints, trac bar, tie rod, shocks and wheel bearing. It also had a 5 inch lift on it i took that off in hopes that some how that would help it didnt new tires nope allingment no help so let me know if you figure anything out. GOOD LUCK

It used to grab and hang up, new steering box fixed that, The truck just has absoultly no play in the steering wheel. All maintance has been done, new tires, balanced, upper/lower ball joints, bearings both sides, new steering dampner, left side front axel u joint, Truck tracks perfectly down road. I have seen other rams with what looks like 2 stering dampners in the front, wondering if that may help, or make it worse. The steering has to be turned back after making a turn also, it does not come back to straight on its own. I have a 2500 chevy with a durmax and the front end is not as heavy as the Ram both are 4x4. This is my first Dodge so far this seems to be my only hic up.

on top of the gear box, there is an adjustment nut. if you have access to a manual, there are full instructions on how to make the necessary adjustments, if you don't, pm me w/ your email address and I'll send pics of the procedure ( if '01 is the same)

I'm not sure the 03 has that adjustment since it is not the same steering box. If it does it would do the trick. If not be happy there are many dodge truck drivers who would love to have tight steering.

Another 3rd w/no play.

I spent a fortune trying to correct my '99's steering(Thanks Dodge). My '07 is stricken with the dreaded "No Play" malady. I love it!
