Question Upper ball joint slop

Based on previous posts, I jacked up each front wheel in turn and felt looseness in each wheel. I checked further and it seems that there is some slop in each upper ball joint.

Off I go to the dealership, they say there is nothing wrong and that this is normal. To me it seems that any type of play will lead to more play as more miles are put on the truck.

I checked with a friend who works on a lot of vehicles who agrees with me that things are not right after we jacked up the vehicle again.

After another call to the dealership and 36085 miles on the truck, they have agreed to look at it again while I am there. Do I have a case to change out the ball joints?

If there is any slop at all, they need to be replaced.

All of a sudden the dealership has now decided that the ball joints need replacing. It seems that perseverence pays off. I work in the engineering field and I didn't understand the zero tolerance spiel he was giving me. The service advisor was absolutely dumbfounded when they made the 180 degree turn around.

at about 31500 miles all my balljoints upper and lower left and right had so much play it failed the Pa state inspection. they were all replaced by the dealer at no cost to me . this was a 600 dollar job push to have them all checked and/or replaced. they must have had a bad batch made.

The dealership replaced both top joints and told me they inspected the bottom ball joints. I have to say the truck seems to drive a lot better, it does not seem to favor the right hand side of the road so much.
