U-joints

This last week i thought i heard some popping in my front drive shaft. Not all the time, just on ocassion. Sunday night i haulled cattle to the Oklahoma National Stockyards. On my way home from the last load, my popping in the front turning to all kinds on noise in the back. It was late so i decided to look at it when i got home from work last night and the rear u-joint on the rear axle is shot. I only have 8000 miles on this truck. This is my fourth Dodge diesel and i have never had anything like this. Did they just use the crappiest parts to finish out the model year or what? I read a thread once on them changing the axle position a little, but i thought it was the front axle. Thanks in advance for any explanations.

Re:U-joints

Sounds like they either didn't grease it enough or at all. I've seen that happen before. Look at the needles when you tear it apart or make them show you the parts when they do it. Sometimes if one goes out, it will take others with it so look at them all three on the rear shaft.
