u-joint died

the u joint between the tire and axle broke last night and when i try to turn the two pieces lock up the tire and you can'tgo any farther. I was wondering how hard it is to take these pieces out so i can actually drive it .

I havent worked on this yr. & model , but in order to do what you ask you would be 80% done with replacement if you have the tools to do it . if you do not it would be best to get a tow to home or shop .

Are you talking about the truck in your sig? I'd imagine an '04 would still be covered by the factory...I'm all for tearing into things just cause it's fun, but in this case I'd tell the dealer to come get it for free, fix it for free and, oh yeah, bring me a rental and a cup of coffee while you're at it!
