Red face Turbo/Wastegate Surging/Opening??

My 06 sounds like the wastegate is opening and closing allot during WOT acceleration. I have the G56 and while getting on the interstate it just sounds weird. I have owned 3 other Cummins (1manual, 2 Auto's) and I have never heard this. Are the new Computer Controlled Wastegates that sensitive????? I do not have a boost gauge as of yet so I cant tell if I'm loosing Boost or not. Does anyone else have the same problem??????

Seems to be a mostly stock truck...any chance the exhaust brake is mal-functioning...if you have one? Beyond that, it sounds like a surge of some sort....
