Trying to get wiper arms off
Trying to get wiper arms off- Figured it out
And I can't figure out how, is there some sort of release/set screw? It is cold (for here
) out and I need to replace my wiper motor (never knew that using them to clear snow was bad...)
So how exactly do the buggers come off? Thanks a lot for any help.
on edit:
I figured out the tab that held them up, I knew it had something to do with it, just took a few tries to figure out how it all worked together... but got it now.

On mine it works like that: Lift the wiper blade until you can either push or pull the little tab that sticks out near the joint. In the right position the tab will snap in or out (don't remember this exactly) and the wiper arm will stay up)
Then wigle the arm gently and it will come off. Do this with the wipers in parked position and mark the position with some tape or the like. Repair or replace wiper motor, install and let it wipe some times without the wipers, turn off wiper and when the motor is back in parking position install the wipers by pushing them on , tilting up the arm a little and push or pull the little tab until the wiper will pull towards the windshield.

Yep, same way on mine. It took a bit to figure out that I had to prop the arm up, I tried that, and worked like a charm. I didn't mark the position, I could see it on the window (I don't wash my truck all that regularly). I did let them run so the motor would be in the off position though.
New motor is in, wipers work. And I won't try to use this one to clear snow.
