wiper arms

wiper arms

how the heck do i get them off? everything i've read says i should move the little tabs and just pull them off. well, there are no tabs and they just dont come off. need some help please.

If memory serves me correctly, you raise the arm so that it's well away from the windshield. Just under where the arm connects to the hub, in the crotch of the joint if you will, there's a little silver flat tab sticking out of the round part that encases the shaft. Pull the tab out with some pliers (I don't think it comes out all the way though).
It's kinda like a C-clip.

anyone else? i just checked to see what you said but couldnt find a little tab. also this is an '87 so their may be some differences with newer models.

You're just not trying hard enough. Either a tab or lever thing you pry down. If yes or no, take a rag and cover up the paint, then pry the wiper arm off.
