Truck won't start

Hey guys, been lurking on here for awhile and learning lots but haven't seen this issue come up yet.
A couple weeks ago truck wouldn't start one morning, temp was about 0*F.Cranking speed was good but no fire.Drained some crud out of the filter bowl and it fired right up.Started and ran good for several days and then a couple days ago same thing, good cranking speed but no fire.Decided to change filter and it was as dirty as any filter I've ever seen.Replaced filter, bled system to the IP,cranked it over and it fired and ran a few seconds and died and won't restart.Figured air in the system so cracked open injector nuts and started cranking. After many cranking cycles I'm still not getting any fuel at the injectors. No fuel pressure gauge but I get fuel squirting out at the inlet to the IP and at the return fitting when I crack them open.Anybody got any ideas?
Truck is a 2001 2500 4WD auto, bone stock.
Thanks, Dale

Fuel should be coming out of the lines pretty good. Have you checked your codes? Turn the key from off to on three times without starting, and on the third time leave the key on. Any codes will be displayed in the odometer window. Post what you find back here.

Well after more cranking I finally got fuel at the injectors but not much, just kind of runs out.The only code I'm getting is the 1693 companion and a check engine light.
Thanks

Sounds like you need to rent a code scanner and pull the codes the proper way. The key trick won't read them all.
