Truck won't start
Truck won't start
I replaced my vp 44 with a bluechip x pump. I have bleed the lines, no start. I bleed over and over finally pulled the truck about a mile, no start. I have the 1689 code again, ecm can't communicate with injector pump. What is going on? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Nape
When you bled the lines at the head, did you get good fuel flow?
ECM not talking to the VP44....I wonder if your VP electronics are already toast, can you go back to the installer or the person you bought it from? I'm not sure how you can verify the VP e-components, you might start by re-checking all connections..

They can be kinda a bear sometimes, loosen the fuel return banjo and run the fuel pump and see if you get fuel without air there ("Bump" The engine to get the pump to run)after you get that done then loosen some injection lines,I like to have someone else crank the engine with the petal to the floor, when you see a good squirt of fuel at the injector then tighten it...should start..
I would guess that if your ECM can't see the IP, all the bleeding in the world is not going to help. Unplug all electrical connectors and re-connect, see if this is just a bad connection issue. If not, I would have the IP checked...
