First post on subject was July 16. Truck still in the shop after buying a diablosport tuner advertised on the classified of DTR. the person attempted on install tow tune and couln't and then tried to put the thing back to stock which he couln't do. Truck will not start was towed to the dealer . Dealer not inform of the programmer installl. The techs have replaced the ECM and now say they can't reflash the computer. J Body and ACECTD talked about pulling up the vin # and checking the security key. Please walk me through what i need to do to get the truck running again. Do the techs need to know of the programmer install.Any information would be appreciated.

 

Not what you want to hear, but NOBODY but a dealer is going to be able to handle this situation. I would bet that following the diag for this led to the ECM being replaced....been there, done that. I knew dang well it wasn't going to fix it, or would have been amazed if it did. The ECM's just do not fail that often. I would bet that when you attempt to view the ECM data you cannot pull up a current part number on VIN for the vehicle. The ECM is going to have to be made to match the truck and due to the improper download procedure you have locked your truck up. I have about two pages of notes on this mess at work in case it ever happens again, but you really need to come clean and tell them what happened.

....never mind, I see where you bought it used. You officially have no leg to stand on, or truck to drive.

 

I had a buddy trying to tune is 06 Mustake, i mean Mustang, but he did somehting that he wasn't supposed to, short story even shorter, he ened up blowing a fuse. He had the same thing, car wouldn't do anything. I don't know if you checked them but it sounds like the same kinda deal. Maybe a long shot but worth check if you haven't yet?

 

J BODY appreciate the feedback. Will coming clean be the only way this truck gets fixed????? I already lost a bundle being its going to be aweek the truck hasn"t worked and to have to pay for the repairs willl kill me. How do they unlock the vehicle.Do they need the programmer??
