Truck Stalling at Idle
My Dealership keeps throwing parts at this truck so I'm at my
wits end.
This is my first Diesel. Bought it and a week later packed it with
tvs dvd players the works and headed to the mountains with
the wife and kids. Going down a steep winding hwy at idle
the truck just stalled. I managed to get it off the road safely and
after taking a deep breath restarted it. It surges, and the oil
pressure drops a good bit untill you give it acceleration.
This has been going on for months. Dodge had replaced the
fuel filter, fuel sensor, and a part I cant remember having some
thing to do with the transmisson droping into low gears.
All these fixes only last a week or so. At one point it was stalling
at every stop sign. Now instead of pulling over I just throw it
in neutal and start it up. What is the problem?

Year of truck, 12 valve or 24 valve.
Guessing on the automatic transmission (since manuals tend not to drop into a lower gear on their own
)

If every time you get it back from dealer it is fine for a week or so, I would say, dealer is doing a reflash of ecm, and something is causing the ecm to get out of sync again, possible bad sensor, or electrical problem.
