Truck died and wont start !

98 24v died going down the road . Stuttered and spit a few times and that was it . Anyone have any ideas ? Thanks

okay

sounds like lift pump and/or fuel pump are gone man sorry to tell yah, let me guess it cranks but wont start

Pull codes and see what you got. More than likely it is the injection pump if you don't have a fuel pressure guage.

Question just an idea

happend to mine a few weeks back crack the front injector see if you gettn fuel if so crack 2 at a time and bleed the system it nasty but it migt get her going again if you dont have fuel at the injectors crack the line in front of the Lp on driver side of eng if you have it there and not at the injectors it would most likely be the ip but i would still try the fuel filter and bleeding the system some reason thay get air in it still tracking the source of mine down but she is running good now

Thanks guys . Sounds like I 've got to bite the bullet and buy a new injection pump. Any suggestions on where to get one cheap? Thanks again !

Follow that link and see who's in your area. You should be able to get a replacement for $1000 or less. I know Midwest Fuel Injection are offering a reman at a great price ( http://www.metrosvc.com/VP44.htm ) and no up-front core charge ... they have free shipping too, both ways!
