truck died!!! after juice with edge!
truck died!!! after juice with edge!
well i had the juice with attitude put in. i drove about 2 miles from mechanic shop (owned by a friend) i'm astonished at the sound difference and of course power! i see my my fuel pressure was dropping as low as 3 when giving the gas a push. thinking nothing of it i decide to open it up to 3/4 throttle. as soon as i let of about 1/8 mile. the truck dies and all the gages go off as well as lights. the lights kick on but i am just coasting. i manage to pull over and put it in park. when i try to start it all it does is crank and sound like it has PLENTY of power to fire. no deal my friend has to tow me! i'm guessing by my reading that it is my fuel pump . is that the lift pump or is that separate? my mech friend said the fuel pump was making a little weird sound after trying to start it.
i'm new and i need help!!! this site rocks, has a lot of sweet info.

There's a post on here now about a wire tap boxs and weak injection pumps.
A bad pumps rotor will sieze shortly after you install a performance box.
Make sure you have fuel to the injection pump and crack an injector line and see if you have fuel there, if not the injection pump is probably shot.

You will need to establish if you have fuel coming out of the IP.
It could just be air locked or..... your VP has fired its last load?
See if you can pull some codes (however both times my VP died I had no codes) As RickCJ said crack as many injector lines as you can reach at the head and see if you can get some fuel flowing.

- yep, sounds like you MAY have no fuel - #1 - do you have more than 1/4 tank of fuel? - THEN....I would start troubleshooting at the LP, check to see if it is running when you key up, then check for fuel at the filter, then check to see if you've fuel at the VP - if you've no fuel at this point, breathe a BIG sigh of relief, either your LP is toast, you've a hole in a fuel line, your fuel line has become disconnected at the tank, or the filter is plugged. If you have fuel to the VP, crack a couple of injectors....no fuel at the injector is a VERY expensive issue, the VP is shot....
Is your CEL on

You said your lights and gauges went out, that is not a symptom of a bad VP but you also said your pressure was about 3psi at partial throttle. That is also critical. Are your gauges and lights working now? It sounds to me that you had an electrical problem that caused the truck to stall initially. Have you had electrical problems in the past?
