Transmission surging
Each year of the Dodge have their own family of automatic transmissions . To know from which lemon you have eaten it is necessary to list the year of the truck. If you have equipped the truck with performance products, that is also needed information, as certain combinations of aftermarket equipment require additional steps to correct operational deficiencies either caused or exacerbated by most performance products.
You can save a lot of pain by reading the technical articles on DTT's website. They pretty well spell out most of the things that are required to "fix" each series of automatic. Their material is found at: http://www.dieseltrans.com/
There is also an excellent article in the Tech Facts section, in the banner at the top of this page, that should be required reading for any automatic owner. Just follow the tech facts to General Information and then read the article on the Automatic Transmission Explained.
