Thanks to those of you who attempted to answer my question. I think I have found the problem. I was fiddling with the shaft that goes into the planitary gear, and when I hit just the right spot in the rotation, it slid back into the case almost a quarter inch. I turned it some more and after a few seconds found the position where it came back out of the transfer case a quarter inch. I could see where the seal used to be on the shaft. So, now I need to find a manual or something that will give me details on how to fix it and set it properly.
