Tranny jumps out of overdrive
I have a 95 diesel that every so often pops out of OD while driving normal Highway speeds. I push the OD button and it returns to normal operation and wont do it for couple months .
Will a bummpy road cause this or what . The truck has 115k and change the filter and fluid every 12K . And how do I get rid of that stupid transfercase shifter rattle ?

Throttle Position Sensor
Can sometimes be the culprit for transmission shifting problems. When one of these goes bad, the auto tranny might hunt, or go in and out of lockup at speed.

Cool, I'll go down to the parts store and see if I can't get one. I've also been noticing that the truck has been taking a long time to shut down after I pull the keys out of the ignition . It didnt do that till i had the torque plate changed on the injector pump. the truck is sometimes wont start up , so then i give a little throttle and it fires right up . Whats up with this ?
Thanks for the info

Try cleaning your tps first before buying, they are also known to cause trouble with bleed over in the wire loom and some have had great luck taking the wires out of the loom and seperating them. 99% of the time it is either dirty or the wire problem. There is a fellow here by the name of olivmat that sells the rewire kit, I would exhaust those two avenues first before spending $250 or more, Goodluck, Rick

Rick is right, save your money. Even replacing the expendsive tps doesn't guarantee your problem will be solved. The tps usually only needs to be cleaned or adjusted. I'm running my stock tps after 200k. It acted up for awhile around 20k till I figured out that spraying the shaft into it with electronic cleaner while working the throttle back and forth at every oil change took care of the problem. You can also check the voltage as per these instructions- http://dodgeram.org/tech/transmissio...TPS_adjust.htm
If that doesn't fix it remove the wires that run to the tps from their loom and separate them all the way to the pcm.
If that still doesn't do it replace the wires with shielded ones.
The tps works off very low voltage, just a little interference can throw everything off.
