Too much oil??
Too much oil??
I had my oil changed by my local dealer and he told me he put
12 quarts in. I told him the capacity was 11 quarts but he said 11 quarts read low so he added one more. He also told me this is the first 2003 CTD he ever did an oil change on.
The dipstick reads right at the full mark. Is 12 quarts too much?? Should I drain a quart??
Thanks for the help.

Re:Too much oil??
When I change mine(Oil & Filter), 11 quarts puts it right on the full mark after running for a minute to completely fill the oil filter.
I always pour the 1st quart from the gallon container into an empty 1 qt oil bottle so I don't overfill.

[undecided]

Watch out for those oil monkeys at the stealerships, Muddy.... Do you wanna be eternally damned to using silicon on your drain plug at every oil change?
It could happen if you get a gorilla that torques the plug to 200ft/lbs! :

Hehehehehe...couldn't agree with you more about the Torque/Sealant Monkeys. I needed a breaker bar to loosen my differential plug - got it out and saw the threads (same thing with the cover bolts) were covered with grey RTV. Real nice of them.
