Whenever my truck is idling at any time, I hear a strange tick. I have no idea where it's coming from. <br><br>It's obviously pretty loud because you can hear it over the engine and it comes in roughly 10 second intervals.<br><br>It ticks EVERY time it's sitting there idling.<br><br>Any ideas?

 

Maybe you bombed it to heavy. Its a time bomb!!! ;D

 

Perhaps it needs a valve adjustment?<br><br>Chris

 

does it still tick if your internal heating/cooling fan is in the off position?

 

Also ... check your overflow valve .... or your lift pump .... they (esp) the overflow valve can cause/create soem strange ticking noises ....

 

mine ticked for a while but i found that it was an injector line vibrating on one of the valve covers<br>Wes

 

Check the overflow valve for sure. Sounds like a very loose valve rocker.<br>george (who is sweating in Florida)
