Throttle cable broke!

Throttle cable broke!

Cable broke...dealers say its on national backorder, anyone know where to get one of these, I'm a carpenter and need my truck for work..thanks in advance for any help, Liam

Salvage yard? Where did it break? You might can put it back together with a clamp but you gotta be careful that it won't get stuck in any way.

The cable is a recall item, you can get the cable and installation for free.
Another person here's dealer had it on back order for three months.
He finally started calling around to other dealers and found one in a town 20 miles away. Had it in one day.
They had a whole bunch of them.

Also if your not able to find one near you I did a quick search on ebay and found quite a few throttle cables for sale.

Ok...ordered one off ebay, sounds like there are two different kinds but atleast I've got something to work with, thanks for the help...

Not all '97s had a cable recall, if any. The recall on mine was for the rod ends, after I had three rods break while towing
