Getting ready to install a fuel gauge. I know I can't use trflon. So what type of sealer should I use? Thanks...

 

I've always used Black RTV on my connections and never had any issues with leaks. Just make sure to keep it higher up on the threads so you're not squeezing it out into the fuel line.

 

You can get some teflon in a tube like toothpaste. That's what it's made for. You can pick it up at most hardware stores.

 

Theoretically, pipe threads shoudn't leak. It is in the design. I have always used teflon tape though if in doubt and never had any trouble. Is there a problem with using the tape?

 

The tape doesn't usually stay in one place,
bits and pieces come off and that would be very bad for the tight tolerances of the VP44 and the injectors.

Teflon paste, or other fuel rated pipe dope stays in place better.

I got the teflon paste, as Phox mentioned. Comes in a little "can", like rubber cement, with a brush in the cap. I forget if I got it at Napa or Home Depot.
