T-Case

Does anyone know if a case out of a 95 auto will work on a 5 speed. Are they the same cases?

The cases are different. Not sure if they WILL interchange.

One is a 241 Standard, the other is a 241HD.

The 95 diesels and V10's should all be equipped with the 241 HD. As long as you are interchanging, and still have the old standard transfer case, you can pull the needed parts from the old one and move them to the automatic version during the swap. You will have no trouble identfying them.

The thing that would be bothersome to me is that none of the 241 HD's are very substiantial. So, be sure you get a rebuild kit and rebuild the unit before you do the swap, or you could be just changing to a new problem. Better yet, just rebuild the one on the standard, the kit is not expensive and it is an easy job.

RCW:

Where do you get the rebuild kits for the 241HD and are there any manuals/instructions available? Thanks, mine will need it by this Spring.

Should be... I was talking about this with someone (I thnk on here) and theirs made it out with a Cummins and a regular NV241. Probally the only on out there, but wouldn't hurt to check the tag on one twice.
