Stuck in Baja
Regarding the meaning of the P0628 code...does that mean the problem is the electrical circuitor the pump itself? Because it seems like it is definitely the pump and nothing electrical. Of course we'll need to get a pump down here before we know for sure.
That will be the pump.Get creative with the plumbing.........bypass the electric pump.Your truck will run with out it but not be able to with the pump in line.I have seen the 03's go 400+ miles with the pump bypassed and no issues later. You will be down on power a bit but you can drive it back home.

I am loving this site. Technology, you can get internet access in the most remote places, but no package deliver 500 miles from the border. I got overnite service on things when I was in the Middle East, but not in a country bordering the US!!!
I can only imagine...it's difficult enough sometimes to get quick/accurate package delivery WITHIN the US!! ;-) So how's it going, still able to relax and enjoy yourself anyways I hope? You do want to be outta there next few days ya know...Hurricane Dean is headed somewhat your way and is now Cat4. I'm betting it veers north a little, misses the Yucatan and probably runs smack into TX tween Corpus and Galveston - not a good scenario anywhere w/Cat4-Cat5 predictions. I spent the entire season in FL 2004 and experienced 4 of them, though 3 were Cat 2 or less in our area, the one was 4 @ landfall(Charley). Let us know the progress and if there's anything else possible to help(short of coming down - which I would do if I could) okay? Good luck!! :-)
Pequena blues.
Hopefully Bob4x4's suggestion will work for you. My buddy's at Playa Alta Mira(The Wall) hunting down a fabled North swell. Nothing much in the forecast for awhile.
Surfline had pics of an awful accident involving a Sportsmobile that went off the road in Centro Baja last week. Everybody walked except for one who had to be flown home. You're doing much better than those folks.

So the parts guys at Worthington Dodge in Carlsbad, based on my VIN and specific request for a feul lift pump, gave my buddy an in-tank sendin unit housing, just the big plastic shell with the level in it. So family and I took the 22 hour bus ride back to states after hitching a ride 3 hours to the bus pick up...I went to the Dodge dealer and was informed they don't stock the OEM replacement lift pump, only have the entire in-tank conversion kit to update it to '05 models...So went to Cummins Cal Pacific, and after much investigating their parts manager told me that Cummins stopped manufacturing and stocking the OEM pump at Dodge's request. Cameron is overniting me his spare, and I'm getting the BD bypass pump sent also, then its back on the bus and hope I get home someday. Really hating Dodge Corp right now!!!
there is a crap load of us with the 03 that are having starting probs. i replaced my lp with a fass lp. same problems. dont know how to put a link up for you but its under 3rd gen engine drvetrain. " 2003 cranks but wont start". hopefully you dont fall into that club
Well, I will be heading back down to Baja when I get the LP from Cameron and the BD Diesel LP kit, hopefully one or the other will do the trick. If not I guess I am looking at about a $2000 tow to the border..
Happy ending, after another 20 hour bus ride and six hours hitchhiking, I put on Camerons old stock pump he sent me and changed out the filter cartridge while I was at it. Truck fired right up and dorve the 14 hours back to San Diego, no problem. I will be putting on the BD Diesel pump I brought with me in case I needed it sometime in the future. Right now its off to British Columbia for some fishin!!!
If you are driving the salt flats, it is really hard on all your wire connections.
I used to camp Juanico every year and the one problem that I found with my Dodge that I did not have with my other trucks is that most problems are related to a bad ground caused by corrosion from the flats, washboards or salt air. If chino is still there"the mechanic" clean (sand) and tighten every related connection. These trucks are voltage sensitive.
