2001 2500 ram diesel 4/4 acts like it don't have power steering.steers hard,ball jouints are good, any ideas?

 

Does the brake pedal feel harder too?
Did you check PS fluid level?

 

yes ps is full

 

maybe have someone turn the wheel back and forth and get under and look, maybe binding or the steering box? my 1500 had sort of had that problem it was kinda like driving and the to turn I could feel some resistance some place, but eventually I replaced the steering box and bingo, not saying that is your problem with your truck but something to look at, but the 1500 also had 231,000 plus miles.
