Steering & Brakes

Power steering fluid all leak out & brakes feel like they are gone. What happened and what do I need to repair. Is it the seal between the steering pump and the vacuum pump ??

Please go into your profile and fill out the signature section with info about your truck. It will help us when suggesting solutions for you.

Your vacuum pump should be separate from the PS pump. On the later trucks they use a hydroboost which runs on the PS fluid in addition to the PS itself. Can you see where it is leaking? It could be a seal, a hose or other line, or hose connection. You may just have to fill it up, start the engine, and look for the leak.

Re:Steering & Brakes

your brakes use a hydraulic assist from the power steering pump instead of the old style vacume assist power brakes ......................so power steering goes.......power brakes go

I second filling it up and looking for leaks ........
