Stalling?????????

On the way around town today I experienced what seems to be a stall several times. I was going around 45 and then it seems as though the pedal would not do anything. I let off the pedal and waited a second. I could then depress the pedal and it would catch up. It did it several times and then I changed the fuel filter. It seemed better for a while and then it did it again. The truck has no mods and 96000 miles with an auto trans. HELP? I have an appointment at the dealer tomorrow. I could not get any codes on the dash.

the symptoms that you are describing is know as dead pedal. If you have any 5yr/100k warranty use it. If not find a local shop. Should be much les $$

I don't have an extended warranty. Will the 5yr/100 powertrain warranty cover it?

Yes, If its still within that period. It could also be an apps problem. Know your rights and dont let the dealer give you a run around.

Both items are not cheap

Depends on the "in service" date.
As long as your truck wasn't sold to it's first owner before 4/14/2001, you'll be okay (* and you have under 100K on)

Good Luck.

Get a fuel pressure gauge.

Congratulations, you just saved about $2,100 per my dealer invoice in April when mine was replaced (also a 01.5)

I took my truck to dealer this morning. He called later and said the code was a result of transfer pump failing. The part will be in Monday to replace. Gave me truck back for weekend to drive. Anything to watch out for. Injector Pump? I am hoping that if the IP fails in 10000 this will be good enough to get it replaced due to the LP. Any ideas??? By the way it is covered by the diesel warranty.

I would still make sure that they check stuff out before getting it back. Even though they put a new lift pump on doesn't mean that it works. Have them check the pressure and make sure it is running enough pressure. It shouldn't go below 10 psi. I would also make sure that the injection pump is still good. Good luck!

Since you had those codes I would make sure that they check out the ip. Might as well get everything done at once if it is bad.
