Sister's 2001 F150 Brake lights out
My sister lives in Port Angeles WA. They have a 2001 Ford F150 with a 5.4 Triton and the left & right brake lights do not work but the center one is still working. She says the fuses are good. My brother in law changed the bulbs last night and still not working. I don't have a schematic and my sister is more mechanical than the brother in law (which isn't too much beyond changing bulbs). But they are family and are tight on money right now. I told her to have him check for corrosion in the socket and make sure bulbs are secure in the pocket. I told her to look under the dash because I thought there may be (2) switches off the brake pedal and all she could see is "lots of wires" . Any other ideas?

Which Ford forum would be a good start. I Googled some forums and I wasn't really impressed with any of them. I have to admit that my intrest in Ford products is about the same as my intrest in my wife's purses & shoes. But my sister is 2k miles away and want to help if I can, even if they do like Fords.

Sounds like the multi function switch, wiggle the hazard light button a couple of times and see if the brake lights start working. The switch is easy to replace but you have to remove the steering wheel it is part of the turn signal assem.

Thanks guys, I told her about the ideas. They have a appointment Thursday at a dealer so if they can't fix at home at they will get it fixed then. They have something this weekend and they need the truck. Kind of bad to drive around the highway with only the middle brake light working.
