!!!!scary Noise!!!!!

While pulling up to a friends house this evening my truck made a really odd and loud noise while slowing down in drive and while idleing in park. This noise is super loud and sounds like its coming from somewhere inside the oil pan. It also changes pitch while at a low RPM when Im hitting the throttle but goes away while over 1000 RPM. Anyone have a clue because im scared to drive it.

is it a knocking sound, grinding, clicking, sound of kitten being wrapped around you belts,etc... if you know its coming from your oil pan. cange the oil and look for metal shavings! use a magnet and run it thru the oil if you have to!

also have you cahnged you diff fluid in a while. thats also in the area, and it is stuck in 4wheel drive

You could possibly have a broken flex plate or sticking starter too.
