My rotors are shot, my truck is torn apart for what I thought would be a simple brake job. What was I thinking! How do I get the hubb off so I can get to the rotor

Well , first off , Can we get you to fill in your signature so we know what truck you have?

I will assume it is a 4x4, i have never done it myself , but i have read about the process several times.

obviously remove the wheel and brake caliper , then the big nut , i don't know the size off hand though. Then remove the 4 12 point bolts from the back of the hub , DO NOT use any sort of puller to remove the hub , you will just pull the bearings apart , and end up buying new ones $$$. The trick i am told is to thread the 12 point bolts back in some , and use a socket and extension so when you climb up in the truck and turn the steering wheel to full lock , it will come up against the axle and "press" the whole hub out , with no sweat on your part.

I think i have explained this right , you might try running a search (yay ! new server!) for "hub removal" , or wait for someone more experienced to chime in.

remove bolts from caliper, seperate caliper from rotor, remove dust cap & cotter pin & ect. from spindle, slide hub off

 

Your axle nut is 1 11/16 from what i can find.

 

They are right but i had one heck of a time getting mine off. Leave the axle nut tight this will keep the bearing from seperating. All of the other info is correct.
use lots of penetrating fluid and when you put it back together use lots of anti-seize.
