results from compresion test/ eng. vibration

cyl. no 1=480<br>cyl.no 2=430<br>cylno.3=480<br>cyl no.4=440<br>cyl no.5=440<br>cyl no6=480<br>this is the test regarding a eng. thomp or vibration herd and felt at 1700rpm when off the throttle. <br>kind of elminates a bad valve;but I would have been happy with that.<br> I guess I got to go deeper?

I should have taken a bet with you that it was not a burnt valve as you suspected. Kinda knew it wasn't.<br>Now that to some extent that you have eliminated the engine it is time to look at other things such us u-joints. Try this test. Put the park on firmly. Put it in second and let the clutch up just enough to drop engine rpm's. Then put it in reverse and lift the clutch SUDDENLY to the spot the engine rpm's drop. Repeat the test from reverse to forward. Do you hear any clunk sound?<br>BTW, don't start a new thread each time you reply, just keep everything under the same title. all this has been going on awhile so , again noise at 1700 rpm .<br> most noteable under coast [goin down hill in gear] <br> sonds just about like a muffled jake brake on one cyl.<br>in my semi.<br> Its a fromp fromp sond with a vibation to match- can be deminstrated at stop with cluth in or out.<br>

Have you pulled the front driveshaft yet? Have you checked the u-joints in the rear? I suggest pulling each driveshaft then driving it. Don't turn any sharp corners when driving with only the front driveshaft. ;D<br><br>Chris<br>
