Replaced the steering box and still........

I replaced the steering gear box on my 1997 2500 dodge diesel. The reason is because my steering would lock up when driving at low speeds and making sharp right turns. After I replaced the box, soon after, the steering would lock up again. And now after driving for about an hour straight, I hear a humming nosie from the front. Is this a power steering problem or is it something else?

I checked the PS Fluid and it is fine, and there are no leaks anywhere.

HELP!!

Assuming your new or rebuilt steering box was properly adjusted, I would expect your pump is due for replacement. Never use a used and unrebuilt steering box or you will trash your pump from crap picked up when the pump first charges the used system. If the latter happened replace both the pump and the steering box, and your brake accumulator to avoid a catastrophic accident.
