Guys I bought a salvaged 2003 ram 2500 5.9lts cummins, this truck was smashed in the front and the fan clutch connector was damaged, on the engine side i have 5 wires and on the fan clutch there are 6 wires and the colors don't match completely, i got the diagram for the 03 truck (ecm side) but it doesn't give me the colors on the fan clutch side,
using a 2006 truck of a friend i was able to pull out the chart and the control for that model i know they changed the color on the ecm side on the 2005 but i was able to identify and match according to my year and model, now i don't get the check engine code but my fan its not working the truck keeps heating up, so if anybody could please help me with the info on the 03 model wiring connections on both sides of the connector just to make sure i have everything right, before i go to the dealer and give away almost 500dlls for a new fan clutch

for a quick response but my problem its not on the ecm side of the diagram from the non existing fan clutch connector, coming down from the vistronic i have 6 cables that not all of them match the colors
red
orange
white
lt green
blue
black
this is where i got lost since mi truck its missing the wire connector on both sides (fan clutch & ecm harness) so using the 2006 truck of my buddy i was able to identify and match the colors but fan clutch its not working, most likely i have to replace it it might have been damaged when it crashed but i want to be 100% sure its not a bad wire before spending 400+dlls

 

I did a search within the site and found similar threads on the matter, i connected the wires color wise and the blue cable coming from ecm hokked it to the red wire from the fan clutch side, the check engine light went off and the fan its now working 100%, i drove it all morning at 110deg with the ac on and no more overheating,

Same problem on my '04. Cut wires from the fan clutch and pulled out of the plug. Wires do not match color for color. After hours of looking I finally called Borg Warner and talked to a tech who gave me the wire colors with pinout. They are:

ECM Fan Clutch
1) K160 18BR/OR Park Lockout Solenoid Control 1) Green
2) K900 18DB/DG Sensor Ground 2) Black
3) K161 18BR/LB Fan Speed Sensor 3) White
4) Not Used 4) Not Used
5) F856 18YL/PK 5 Volt Supply 5) Orange
6) F504 20GY/PK Fused Ig. Sw. Output 6) Red
