had anybody had a power steering line crack. The high pressure side of the pump that goes to the hydra boost (brakes), the fitting on the bottom of the pump got a hairline crack right below the O-ring. It blew fluid every where, no brakes and no power steering. I just left indiana at 4 am and was driving to orlando florida, got to the florida turnpike, had to have the truck towed to the dodge dealer, they said 250 bucks. A vacation that went bad. The truck is a 2003 3500. Had anybody else had this problem?

 

mine was all rusted and I found the corner auto store had a replacement in stock. Pretty common part apparently.

 

Does your truck have the harmonic vibration-dampening weight attached to the high pressure line from the (IIRC) the pump to the brake booster?

The CTD's natural harmonics are brutal on work hardening-prone metals!

 

not sure if it has the vibration damp on it. It is an 03 305 ho engine, I have it turned up a little about 100 horse. Still stuck in florida waiting on parts, I guess the hose on this motor is not real common to buy at the local auto parts store, nobody had one, had to order it, just wondering if maybe there is a tsb out on it?

 

my buddies 03 lost a powersteering hose, and a pump on separate occasions. they put the weighted line on it, been fine since.

 

That's what I thought I dimly remembered. I understood DC changed it due to the vibration issue.

Yes, it happened on my 1996 Dodge CTD 12 valve, but fortunately my Dodge Tech caught it before something bad happened.
