Exclamation Pitman Arm Removal - '06 3rd Gen

How in the world did some of you get the stock pitman off? The pitman puller I had was too thick to fit between the arm and the steering box....so I ground it down....and, yes, it broke....

Got another one from Napa that has slightly smaller arms, but it is too thick as well. I have soaked it in lube for the past two days. I also tried a large pickle fork and it doesn't seem to budge it....

Any suggestions? I have been without a truck for 2 days now and need to get this thing back on the road!

I used a K-D #2289 (Napa type) puller which I ground down just enough to tap on and after cranking down on it I smacked it (not real hard) with a hammer and it came off. I did this on both of my '03-3500's with no problem.
