now its charging but takes about 10+ seconds once started and am still gitting this p1693 ( mil flt in comp module ) and overboost what ever that is. replaced the map and now no p0216.....this thing is possesed by demons or somthing.
It sounds like you have two distinct problems. The first is probably a bad wire terminal under the PDC, or the PDC end of the main power cable, or even a blown fusable link that is making intermittant contact.
The second is your injection pump is generating the P0216, and that means that it is not sliding the timing actuator for the delivery valve - no fix, just replace the pump with a rebuilt.

The run it until it drops is a common approach. As long as he has good tow insurance that works! Otherwise, he will be buying half a pump for the price of a tow. They do not just gradually run out of power, they stop dead when they finally quit, and the next pump will fail too.
That last comment should raise a couple eyebrows, but it is factual. When VP44 fails it is because of excessive erosion of the pressure piston and the variable oriface that regulates the delivery valve. When they wear they drop microscopic particles of very hard metal into the injector lines, and it sticks around in the return lines and is too fine to be captured by the filter. Then those abrasive particles return to the new pump and eat it too. This will recurr until all the lines are flushed and the injectors removed and refurbished.
That is why it is critical to replace a pump at the first sign of failure.
The good news is that the guy has run it this long, so it makes no difference now. He pinched his penny and is now in for the pound.
