Parking Lights Come On By Themselves???

I Got Bake To The Airport Last Night To Find My Truck Completely Dead. Aas Soon As I Hooked Up Jumpercables The Parking Lights Came On. Truck Started And I Drove It Home. One Home The Parking Light Turned Off. Went Out This Morning And They Were On Again. Luckily I Park On A Hill. Batteries Test Good, And I Put A New Front Control Module On It About 15000 Miles Ago. Im Baffled

you know I had a problem like that. It only does it ever so often. I can turn the lights off and turn the truck off open door no digs no nothin and my headlights will stay on. I turn the switch back to on then off and it goes away. But the instrument cluster wont be lit up or anything. It did it to me since the night I got my truck and has done it here and there its whole life.

I took it to the dealer when it was newer and they couldn't find a thing so I just let it do its thing!!

Do you have the tow package? I have heard of this happening if you have a short in trailer connector that lets the park/tail connection short to 12v power. Could be in the connector or a rub in the lines.

As for the headlights:

the head lights being on is a safety feature, you can disable it if you read through your manual

My bad -- I didn't see the year. My wife's GRand Caravan will leave the lights on for a short time if you turn the key off and leave the lights on, then turn the lights to off. First time I did that, I was but then read in the manual what happened. If you turn the lights off before shutting down the ignition, the lights stay off, though.

400 hundred later and its third front control module they say the problem is "fixed". i hate being out of town and having to pay to have stuff fixed, not to mention paying retail for parts.
