Exclamation P-2146 and P-2149 code need help!!

Coming home today with the wiffey and baby from a birthday party and the truck shut down with no warning. I was doing about 70 mph down the highway and suddenly the truck shut off and coasted for about an 1/8 mile and turned right back on with a cell light. I eased the truck back home and checked for codes and found these 2.

P-2146 Is a 1-3 cylinder short high or low

P-2149 Is a 4-6 cylinder short high or low.

I was messing with the Edge J/A when this all happened (checking records and performance test).

Could anyone explain why this may have happened. Could it be the Edge J/A or something else. It was also raining outside when this accured. Again everything seems to be running fine now.

Thanks for any help Eric

Take the edge out and see if it acts up again, sounds like you have a bad connection somewhere.

If it does it stock I'd be looking at the valve cover gasket.

Am I putting off enough boost to destroy the headgasket? I see 38-39 Max. Never get on it till the engine warms up..

The 05 injector wiring is built into the gasket from what I understand

I just lost an injector due to the wires in the valve cover gasket. One shorted out and took out #6 injector. I had the P0206 code and the P2149 code. Took it in and that's what they found. For anyone in Alberta, I just took the last valve cover gasket for at least 10 days! My dealer said the closest one available was in Kentucky (10 days away by normal freight b/c Chrysler won't pay air freight on warranty), then they managed to get one released from another dealer who had special ordered it in. I couldn't beleive it either, but there is a wiring harness built into the valve cover gasket.

Picking up the truck tonight, $0 under the Cummins engine warranty.

the older 7.3 powerstroke had the wiring in the valve cover gasket, they were known to short and cause major problems
