overboost sensor

codes says it no good. 238 i think...or 236 . anyways where is it and will it give me the same driveability problems as a bad vp. although i do get the 216 code as well. also cant erase the codes even with a obdII scanner. says communication problems. different software needed for the diesel?

That would be the map sensor. Your wastegate is probably stuck open. Should be able to erase codes w/ obd2. Sounds like your vp is toast if your having driveability problems.

The boost sensor is located on the top of the intake manifold between the ram and the firewall. My truck was sluggish and had poor throttle response until I replaced the boost sensor, it was like night and day.......until my injector pump bit the dust...been in the shop now 15 days waiting on Dodge Engineering to make the diagnosis....first they said injectors, replaced all six and still would not start, I told them it was the injector pump, they said pump tested OK, two days later they told me that they think it is the injector pump?????

Boost sensor is located in different positions in 2nd gen and 3rd gen vehicles.

The OP needs to let us know what vehicle he/she is driving.
