Re:Oil in Water!

Actually EVEREST VIT makes a very good scope and the worlds best videoScope. I have a rigid scope from Everest and its very good that I use in my company.

They have (and I have used) a video scope with 6mm head that would fit into the injector hole on the engine. its the Videoprobe XL Pro.. Really nice unit that is very portable, robust and good value.

EVerest is a better videoscope that Olympus and way less money..They actually have the only Patent on the joystick controlled videoscope...
Videoprobe XL Pro

This is a great unit..

As for the engine, if even suspect glycol in the oil. STOP RUNNING THE ENGINE!!!! Even trace amounts of coolant in the oil can cause some pretty severe damage to the bearing surfaces and cause more damage than just doing the head gasket.

I also suspect the head gasket as the oil feed throught he block is close to a water jacket passage.

PS I have attached a picture of a Caterpillar G3616 head shot with the Videoprobe..

Nice pic, Lil Dog. That looks like a very high quality scope to get that good a picture. Thanks for sharing it, it helps understand what is going on inside the engine when one sees the scorch marks on the top if the valve - it gets hot in there doesn't it?

Yes, the VideoProbe is really good resolution, considering the camera is in the 6mm head. So the lens on the camera is about the size of ballpoint pen.

As the file says, its an intake valve off of a Natural Gas Burning CAterpillar engine. This was to point out to the customer about the oil dripping from the intake valves.

J-eh
