Oil Pressure @ start up?

I've noticed something I thought I would ask about...When starting my CTD it will start and the oil light remains on for about 4-5 seconds after it has started, then all the sudden the oil pressure will jump from 0 to approx 50. Is it normal for it to take that long to respond to the engine running? Probably nothing serious..I'll be doing the vacuum pump seal thing soon and might as well put an oil sender in while I have the other stuff apart...Just curious about the no oil pressure..

This is common for these trucks. It is normal for the sensor that they put in for the oil pressure. One guy I know took his truck in about this after he bought it new and the dealer said that it was normal. It is just the nature of the beast.
