oil filter number

Guy at work has a 2000 2500. He picked up a Fleetguard LF3959 oil filter. Will that work ok on the later models? I was thinking that the LF 3894 was the one to use for that model. Thanks in advance.

The Fleetguard #LF3959 is the paper element The Fleetguard #LF3894 is the stratapore element Both numbers will work on the 2000 Cummins Rich
