No power,no start

Have a 98 24v dodge that was running fine was just feeling like it lost power. I found out the LP went bad and had it replaced. I then installed a magnaflow 4" exhaust, air raid filter kit, and a Van Aaken smart box. After this the truck would drive fine for a while and then the voltage meter started going very low. I replaced the alternator and everything was charging again. The next day, I tried to put it to work, drove for about 50 miles. Stopped to put gas and the truck barely cranked over and the batterieswent dead. Would the Box be causing this? Need to get to work!!!!! Thanks

Bad batteries?... Sounds like an internal short or something.

You really didn't put Gas in it?

I don't know but I had a truck that did about the same thing and my problem was that the Cranksensor was going bad, mine is a 12v though. I think that sensor is an input for regulation of the atlernator. It could be different on a 24valve.

I really dont know how you would be able to test that sensor but you could use a volt meter to check and see if you alternator is actually charging while the truck is running. Jump start it or charge the batts back up and start it. when the truck is running and the alt. is charging you should get a reading of 13.5~14.4 volts. Also using a volt meter check and see if there is any amperage draw when the truck is off. Pull one of the positive cables off and put the meter in line between post and cable. you should only really draw about half of one amp when key off. (That is to let your clock keep time.)
sorry for all the bad grammar.

Fixed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was one wire connected to the battery, like an e8 gauge wire that was broken in 2 pcs. I connected them, soldered them together, and the truck is running great. The customer was so happy he was doing burnouts. I'm happy cause he has 4 other trucks to do for me to upgrade. Thanks everyone, for the replies.
