No power/Engine light
New guy, need some advice.
I just took my '01 2500 5spd truck to the dealer because of an engine light, and severe lack of power. They said lift pump, injection pump, and MAP sensor all need to be replaced to the tune of 3800.00. What gets me is that the truck was running great, but one morning, the light came on, and it has no power. Starts fine, idles fine, but accelerates like a dog.
Injection pump was replaced 60K ago by dealer, lift pump 30k ago by me. Can they go that quick, or is it possible that a MAP sensor will cure it?
Also , I am unfamiliar with getting the codes out of these trucks.
Any help is appreciated.

Can only help with the code reading, Key on-off 3 times leaving on the third time. Watch the odometer and the codes will display there and finally a P--Done when finished. I know this works on the newer trucks and think it also works on yours.
For the cost I would try just the Map sensor and see if it makes any difference before spending the $3800 with the dealer. If that isnt the problem is should at least deduct that much from the dealers estimate and if it does fix it a cheap fix compared to the dealers quote. Maybe an APPS reset if appropriate might help also.
Just random thoughts, nothing I know for sure !!!

I suffered the same problem after a snow storm driving through 4' drifts. Air intake was plugged with snow. Air flow sensor was questioned, unplugged it, removed the sensor, dried it out. Reinstalled and that corrected the problem.
