Have you verified that your fuses are good?

Almost sounds like a short somewhere if you have no running lights either. Check for frayed wires.

Do you have power at the fuse?

When you replaced the switch, did you have a good look at the connector and make sure it wasn't all melted and the terminals still fit tight?

Check and see if you have a trailer harness shorting at the rear bumper area. I have seen this before on trucks of that vintage, usually after the dash and everything else has been pulled...

The running lights and dash lights typically are on the same circuit and your trailer running lights tie into that. It may not be enough to pop the fuse but still cause problems.

Also check your grounds.

Good luck.....

My bet is a blown fuse.
Did you check them with a meter or test light?
Many times just looking at them doesn't work.

My wiring harness for the light switch caught on fire on my 91, new switch, harness, and I put my headlights on relays and all is well, lights work better than before.
