no gauge cluster lights

I have traced the problem back to the fuse box, no power there either. I have checked the fuse (obviously) and relays. My headlights work fine just no gauge lights. I was thinking maybe I fried my switch but I cant find anything else.

Thanks in advance

It is likely the dimmer part of the switch failed. The older switches were a simple reostat to control the dimmer. I suspect the newer ones control the dimmer electronicly and this can fail.

Ok , well i found my problem. Melted wires! Well my gauge cluster lights stopped working then (later) my running lights started staying on all the time even with the switch unplugged so I began tracing wires. Took about 4 hours of testing and tracing but two wires running up the the headlight switch were melted together and I did have to peel back some electical tape. Of course they ended up being right in front of my face.
