no fuel out bleed screw

Can any one give advice. My 1995 diesel 3/4 ton died. I thought I had run it out of fuel, quite possibly I had. (fuel gauge doesn't work) Now I put fuel in it, pumped the crap out of that primer pump, turned it over many times, I got a little bit of fuel out at first with bubbles in it, now nothing. I am finding that I have to lift up on the shut off solenoid to get it to engage when I turn the key on. I called a friend and he said I could only prime the dodge with the key on and solenoid up(he is a power stroke guy though). I had a problem about 2 years ago and had the solenoid and the wire to it replaced and injection pump rebuilt. Any advice on what now?

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Loosen a fitting after lift pump to get priming started. Do you have a pluged filter or crimped line do you?

Thanks guys. I also changed the filter so I don't think that is the issue. I will try the pressure test next.

Algee usually is black, is it in the tank and lines?
I had an old bread truck with the algee problem. Fuel would not flow!!
80 psi air pressure and it still fought movement. Then it finally gave in.
Ran the fuel tank low-this took several filters--dropped the tank and cleaned it.
Also the engine need to be rotated away from the cam lobe that opperates the lift pump to prime it.
