Boy, I sure would think that it is the shop's responsibility to find you a good head (for your truck, that is) .

Some of the diesel high performance shops may have something. Check with Piers.

2whistlers: There is one on TDR here is the site http://www.turbodieselregister.com/c...uery=retrieval

Here is the info. $300.00 OBO

Description

98 or 99 head, has been checked by machine shop for cracks-problems and is ready to go. Includes valves, and valve springs. Since I have no need for it, I am willing to consider all offers, but keep in mind that it would probably cost arround $80.00 to ship, depending on how far it has to go.

Hope this works for you.

I don't know how bad a machine job they did on the old head, but did you show the head to a O ring vendor? They make O rings custom size's, square cut, special width, high heat. Maybe a new machine shop could dress it up and slip in custom made O rings? Any ways it's just a thought. Good Luck

Thanks for all the help everybody, I really appreciate it. (More than you know). Turns out that the guy on TDR only lives about an hour and a half away. I'm going to check it out tomorrow. I just had a big thread wrote out before this one but it kicked me off and I'm not going to write another book. The other thread was just under 1000 words or characters or something. I just wanted to let you all know how much help everyone has given me and thank you all. THANKS DTR!!!! RD
