Question Need Mechanic around Houston

Drive this truck with no load daily. Picked up my daughter from school on Wed. and went to my inlaws. About 1/2 mile from their place, engine started knocking. Let the engine cool down, added 2 QT oil and knock went away. Drove normally over the next few days. Checked the oil in morning then in envening--not loosing oil.

2:30 AM today, started engine, headed to work. About 5 miles down the road, knock came back and stayed. Sounds like a rod to me???

I need someone to look at it, diagnose, and possibly fix this issue. I am afraid dealer will want to drop new motor in truck, and at $10,000 ish, no way. If it's just a bearing, and can be fixed easily...done.

Help locate someone on the Northwest side of Houston--Spring...

These guys are a few miles from you, but not nearly as far as they are from me and I went there for major work.

I don't think you can find a better or fairer shop.
