Need HELP! truck running very bad
Okay so my truck has been down 5 weeks now.I welded a hanger on the exhaust straight to the frame and didnt disconnect my batteries
Im gettin brown smoke and serious rattle at idle and have no throttle response. I had a code p0088, rail pressure above max limit. I cleared it and it has not came back but it still runs the same. Here is what I have done so far with no difference:
1. Disconnect batteries hopin to reset computer.
2.Took rail sensor off my buddies 05 put it on mine.
3.Disconnected the fca while the truck is running, made no difference
4. Disconnected fca on my buddies 05 to see if his ran the same as mine, it didnt, not even close he still had throttle and no where near the same sound.
5. Had Bob Wagner send me an Ecm thinkin mine was fried.
6. Smarty and mp8 both removed.
Im also getting a camshaft position sensor code, I replace the sensor twice now and still got the code.
Nothing has worked or made any difference whatso ever. Im lost. Anyone have ANY idea what is going on?

ive welded on mine several times plus used the bed for a welding table and havent had any problems. did you check the crank sensor because the motor also reads it for the rpm's
Havnt checked that yet, but my rpms are only reading around 200...Man I would disconnect the batteries just in case cause this crap im going through now is no fun at all. I will never take this chance again. I wonder why im not getting any other codes besides p0341..

Where did you have the ground cable attached when you welded the bracket? Check all the grounding locations and wireing harness for melted or soft spots in the wire. The welder may have used you wiring harness for grounding. Power use the path of least resistance. Had this happen on a job once and the welders fried about 10K worth of equipment when welding on the steel pipeing.

The truck ran excellent, I parked it, welded the exhaust hanger back on, Fired it up and it was running like this. An hour after I had shut it up to begin welding this is what i got now
I appreciate the replys from everyone..Im positive welding caused it, ran great till i struck an arc on it
I would just be extremely careful welding on it now bud, this is no fun at all, ill never weld on another vehicle again unless the battery is un hooked.
Doesn't sound stupid at all man, any advice is great cause i could have missed the obvious, but no i checked all the fuses. Unless there are some more that i could have missed? I didnt see any in the truck only under the hood but i pulled everyone of them and checked.
